Heard from Elvia Rosa Castro:

“Carlos Montes de Oca is one of the most cerebral and versatile artists I know”

In the current phase of his work, where abstraction predominates, Montes de Oca wanted to prioritize a methodology based on random control as an expression of freedom. So, he invented a whole practice that grants a “crafty” and processual tint to the painting. To reach this result, Montes de Oca "paints" first on nylon, then he "prints" it on the canvas by adding coats of painting, creating a kind of permeable work, as he says.
